Among the marvels of Egypt perhaps the Great Sphinx of Giza is second to none.
The mysterious colossus with the head of a man and the body of a lion is not at all uncommon in Egyptian architectural adornment, but the Great Sphinx fills the observer with wonder and awe
by its gigantic and monumental proportions. Sphinx is the largest monolith statue in the world,
standing 73.5 metres long, 6 metres wide, and 20.22 m high.
