Inside of the tunnel

At the end of the entrance tunnel is a circular room which one enters the brass lined elevator

for the ride 407 feet up to the Kehlsteinhaus. Inside of the elevator was quite beautiful

with golden brass walls so shiny no wonder many people think it's real gold.

Unfortunately taking picture inside of the elevator wasn't allowed.

The arched terrace windows were glassed-in in the 1950s,

and the terrace today is used to display a photo exhibit on the history of the Kehlsteinhaus.

The fireplace was a gift from Benito Mussolini to Hitler.

Late lunch at the Kehlsteinhaus,

Today the building is owned by a charitable trust, and serves as a restaurant.

Omaha beach, Normandy

If you watched the Movie Saving Private Ryan,

you would remember the 20minutes opening sequences of the movie.

It was filmed in County Wexford, Ireland near the town of Curracloe.

However it provide an excellent feel for what conditions on the beach must have been like

on the day of 6 June, 1944.

Omaha Beach is the code name for one of the five sectors of the Allied invasion of

German-occupied France in the Normandy landings on 6 June 1944, during World War II.

Omaha Beach is located on the coast of Normandy, France.

Features that are so beautiful to the eyes were nothing but an obsticle course

to the US troops during invasion of Normandy.

Walhalla, Regensburg

The Walhalla temple is a hall of fame that honors laudable and distinguished Germans,

famous personalities in German history — politicians, sovereigns, scientists and artists of the German tongue". The hall is housed in a neo-classical building above the Danube River,

east of Regensburg, in Bavaria, Germany.

The Walhalla temple is named for Valhalla of Norse mythology. It was conceived in 1807 by Crown Prince Ludwig, who built it upon ascending the throne of Bavaria as King Ludwig I.

Construction took place between 1830 and 1842, under the supervision of architect Leo von Klenze.

The temple displays some 65 plaques and 130 busts of persons, covering 2,000 years of history.

Dedicated to Saint Lawrence. It was badly damaged during the Second World War but later rebuilt.

Place Masséna, Nice

The Place Massena is the heart and soul of Nice as well as its geographic center.

Conceived to cover the Peillon river, Place Massena was constructed from 1832 to 1850. The architect, Joseph Vernier, modelled the Italianate porticos that fringe the square on the Rue Rivoli in Paris.
